FIFA has announced the implementation of new regulations aimed at curbing time-wasting tactics during the upcoming World Cup. According to referees chief Pierluigi Collina, players who exceed a five-second limit for throw-ins or goal-kicks will face penalties, with the opposing team being awarded a corner kick for violations related to goal-kicks. Additionally, players who require treatment from physiotherapists will be required to remain off the field until they are cleared to return, reinforcing the commitment to maintaining the flow of the game.
