The Federal Government of Nigeria, via the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, has implemented new traveller screening protocols at borders to mitigate the risk of importing the Bundibugyo ebolavirus disease (BEBOV). This decision comes in response to recent outbreaks of the virus reported in East and Central Africa, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The government aims to enhance public health safety and prevent any potential spread of the virus within the country. A formal statement detailing these measures was released on Tuesday in Abuja.
