The organised private sector has expressed strong opposition to the proposal for a N100,000 minimum wage, citing financial constraints faced by many businesses. Leaders within the sector highlighted that numerous employers are currently grappling with challenging economic conditions, which hinder their ability to absorb such wage increases. They acknowledged that while certain state governments might have the resources to implement this wage for public servants, many private companies, particularly smaller enterprises, lack the financial capacity to comply without jeopardizing their operations.
