The Federal Government of Nigeria has implemented enhanced health screening measures at airports, seaports, and land borders to mitigate the risk of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) entering the country. This initiative follows the emergence of the Bundibugyo strain of the virus in East and Central Africa. The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has confirmed that there are currently no reported cases of EVD within Nigeria, but the government is taking proactive steps to safeguard public health by isolating high-risk travelers.
