The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) has highlighted the significant financial burden of tobacco use on the nation's healthcare system, estimating that smoking-related diseases result in costs of approximately N634 billion annually. Additionally, the organization reported that tobacco consumption is responsible for the loss of around 28,000 lives each year in Nigeria. In light of these alarming statistics, the ACPN has urged the federal government to enhance tobacco control measures to mitigate the health risks associated with tobacco use.
