A Tunisian court has issued its verdicts in the high-profile case involving the Ennahda Movement's alleged "secret apparatus," resulting in severe penalties for several key figures. Rached Ghannouchi, the leader of the Ennahda Movement, was sentenced to life imprisonment along with an additional 30 years. His deputy, Ali Laarayedh, received a sentence of 42 years, while another defendant, Mustapha Khedher, was handed a 96-year prison term. Additionally, several other defendants, including Ridha Barouni and al Tahar Boubehri, were also sentenced to life imprisonment, contributing to a total of multiple decades of cumulative prison terms for the 35 individuals involved in the case.
