Hon. Bashir Adamu, a governorship aspirant for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State, has formally petitioned the party's State Election Appeal Committee to annul the recent governorship primary election. In his petition, Adamu accused the election process of being marred by significant irregularities, including violations of party guidelines and undue influence from party officials, particularly alleging that the chairman of the primary election committee acted under the directives of the State Executive Committee. He claimed that this interference led to the announcement of a candidate under duress and alleged that the State Executive Committee favored Sabo Nagudu as the party's flag bearer. Adamu further detailed incidents of violence, intimidation, and logistical failures that he argued compromised the integrity of the election, ultimately calling for a fresh primary to ensure adherence to ADC guidelines and the Electoral Act.
