Lagos Government Arrests 45 Teenage, Adult Beggars

The Lagos State Government has conducted enforcement operations that resulted in the arrest of 45 individuals, comprising both adults and teenagers, for engaging in street begging. These operations took place in various locations, including Oshodi, Agege, and CMS areas of Lagos. Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, confirmed the arrests in a statement released on his X account on Wednesday. The initiative is part of the government's efforts to address the issue of street begging in the state.
