Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has officially concluded its ‘Zero TB’ project in Kulob, Tajikistan, after four years of collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population and the National Tuberculosis Programme. The initiative, launched in 2021, aimed to enhance tuberculosis (TB) detection, treatment, and prevention services in one of the country's most affected regions. Throughout the project, MSF successfully screened over 22,500 individuals, identified more than 2,200 close contacts for screening, and provided treatment to nearly 702 patients with drug-resistant TB. The project not only focused on medical care but also introduced psychosocial support for TB patients, addressing stigma and facilitating treatment adherence, thereby contributing to the long-term capacity building of TB services in the region.
