The Niger State House of Assembly has provided clarification regarding the loan request of $14.4 million (approximately N20.4 billion) submitted by Governor Umaru Bago. The assembly stated that the request was intended solely to seek approval for the state to act as a guarantor for the loan being sought by the Niger Food Security Systems and Logistics Company. This clarification was communicated to the press in Minna, where assembly representatives emphasized the purpose of the request.
