Onion farmers in Nigeria are facing significant financial challenges, as they are reportedly producing their crops at a loss, according to Aliyu Maitasamu Isa, the National President of the National Onion Producers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria (NOPPMAN). During an appearance on Trust TV’s Business Daily programme, Isa highlighted that this situation persists despite an abundant food supply and relatively stable market prices. He emphasized the need for urgent attention to the plight of onion farmers, who are struggling to sustain their livelihoods in the current economic climate.
