A tragic motor accident occurred on Wednesday in the Narehi area of the Girei-Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including four members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and one soldier. According to a statement from Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesman for the Adamawa Police Command, the collision involved a military gun truck traveling from Gombi towards Yola and a commercial Hummer bus carrying five passengers from Yola to Mubi. The preliminary investigation indicated that the two vehicles collided head-on, causing the Hummer bus to overturn and catch fire, leading to the fatalities of all five passengers aboard. The deceased NYSC members, identified as Suleuman Juliet and Usman Shuaibu from Kaduna State, along with two others yet to be identified, were confirmed by police, who also reported that the bodies have been taken to the Specialist Hospital in Yola for identification and notification of their families. The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa expressed condolences to the families of the victims, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and the NYSC.
