The Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) has emphasized that implementing non-custodial sentencing can significantly alleviate overcrowding in prisons. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, the Public Relations Officer of NCoS in the Federal Capital Territory, DSC Duza Adamu, highlighted the organization's commitment to promoting this alternative sentencing approach. He noted that the NCoS is actively engaging in extensive sensitization efforts to encourage the adoption of non-custodial measures within the judicial system.
