The federal government has enhanced its efforts to combat illegal mining by commissioning eight operational gun trucks for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Mining Marshals in Abuja on Thursday. This event coincided with the second anniversary of the NSCDC Mining Marshals, a specialized unit created to address the challenges posed by illegal mining activities across the country. The provision of these gun trucks is aimed at equipping the unit with the necessary resources to effectively enforce mining regulations and protect the nation's mineral resources.
