The Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria (AWAMN) has proposed the innovative approach of transforming plastic waste into affordable housing materials as part of a broader strategy to promote circular economy practices. Dr. Olugbenga Adebola, the National President of AWAMN, emphasized this initiative during an event at the Centre for Housing and Environmental Studies at Covenant University in Ota, Ogun State, which coincided with the observance of World Environment Day 2026. The organization aims to address both the environmental challenges posed by plastic waste and the pressing need for affordable housing solutions in Nigeria.
