The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has taken decisive action by impounding over 30 vehicles in Abuja for breaching traffic regulations, particularly concerning the use of tinted glasses and obscured number plates. Commissioner of Police Ahmed Sanusi announced that this enforcement initiative aims to combat the use of such vehicles by criminals involved in various violent crimes, including one-chance robberies and kidnappings. He noted that intelligence reports indicated that criminals often exploit tinted windows and concealed plates to avoid detection. Under the directive of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, the command has intensified its efforts, with plans to prosecute the owners of the seized vehicles in accordance with the FCT Road Transport Regulations Act, 2023.
