On June 4, Thailand contributed 12 metric tonnes of rice, valued at $22,000, to support vulnerable communities in Nigeria. The donation was handed over to the World Food Programme (WFP) in Abuja amidst warnings from humanitarian agencies that approximately 34.7 million Nigerians may face severe food insecurity this year. The escalating insecurity in the region has exacerbated the food crisis, prompting urgent calls for assistance to affected populations. This aid effort underscores the growing international concern regarding the humanitarian situation in Nigeria.
