Mrs. Olufunmilayo Adelabu, the mother of former Minister of Power Bayo Adelabu, shared her emotional experience following the safe rescue of her daughter, Olaide Adegoke, and her twin grandsons, who were kidnapped by gunmen in Ibadan. In a video posted by Oyo Affairs, she expressed her relief and gratitude to God for their safe return after the family was abducted on June 3, 2026. The police successfully rescued them during an operation that resulted in the neutralization of two suspected kidnappers. Mrs. Adelabu also highlighted her sorrow for other victims still in captivity, particularly the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area, and offered prayers for their safe return, emphasizing the need for improved security measures in Nigeria.
