Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd), has expressed his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the approval of the N1.245 trillion dualisation of the Gombe-Biu Highway. This project, which aims to revitalize a road initially constructed in 1962, is part of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and is expected to enhance regional connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the North-East. The 139-kilometre highway will utilize rigid pavement technology, facilitating improved transportation, trade, and integration among local communities. Buratai also recognized the collaborative efforts of key stakeholders, including the Minister of Works and the governors of Gombe and Borno, while emphasizing the project's potential to bolster security and stability in the region.
