The Federal Government has completed the screening process for Nigerians registered for evacuation from South Africa, facilitating their return to Nigeria. This exercise, which began on June 4, was conducted in collaboration with the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation, the South African Police Service, and immigration authorities. The screening aimed to verify the identities and eligibility of those seeking evacuation in light of increased security concerns and recent xenophobic attacks. Following the conclusion of this process, authorities will finalize the list of approved evacuees and arrange for the deployment of aircraft to transport them back to Nigeria, reaffirming the government's commitment to the welfare of its citizens abroad.
