The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has raised concerns regarding the alleged use of security agencies by Governor Biodun Oyebanji to intimidate opposition members in the lead-up to the June 20 governorship election. During a press conference held in Ado Ekiti, Ayodeji Ogunsakin, the PDP's deputy governorship candidate, reported instances of arrests and harassment targeting party supporters, particularly in Ikere Ekiti, where he claimed police conducted overnight raids. Ogunsakin emphasized that such actions create an atmosphere of fear that undermines democratic participation and called for an investigation by President Bola Tinubu and relevant security authorities to ensure fair electoral conditions. In response, Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, refuted the allegations, describing them as unfounded and asserting that the governor is dedicated to maintaining peace and order within the state.
