The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced a new penalty structure for authorized dealer banks that fail to adequately process foreign exchange (forex) transactions. According to the fourth edition of the Foreign Exchange Manual, any bank that engages in such practices will incur a fine of N100 million, along with an additional N10 million for each transaction that lacks proper documentation. This measure aims to enhance compliance and ensure the integrity of forex transactions within the banking sector.
