The government of Nigeria has launched the Solution and Mobility Index (SMI) as part of the IDSF project to assess the stability of regions accommodating returnees and displaced individuals in Borno State. This initiative focuses on the local government areas of Bama, Damboa, Dikwa, Gubio, Jere, Kaga, Konduga, Mafa, and Magumeri. The SMI aims to identify key factors affecting stability and to inform priority interventions for recovery and resilience in areas impacted by conflict and displacement. Data collection for the first round of the SMI was conducted from September 14 to 25, 2025, with the findings intended to assist governmental authorities and partners in developing effective strategies and resource allocation for humanitarian and stabilization efforts.
