A coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) focused on environmental justice in the Niger Delta has issued a condemnation of a recent protest by a small group of Ogoni youth against the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP) coordinator, Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey, which took place in Abuja. The CSOs characterized the demonstration as malicious and suggested that it was orchestrated for ulterior motives. Comrade Michael Garale, the leader of Rainbow Watch, articulated these concerns, emphasizing the need for genuine advocacy in addressing environmental issues in the region. The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to supporting HYPREP's objectives and promoting sustainable environmental practices.
