Southend United has appointed Kieron Dyer, a former England international, as their new head coach. The 47-year-old, who had a distinguished playing career with clubs such as Ipswich Town and Newcastle United, steps into his first senior managerial position following previous coaching roles at Ipswich and Chesterfield. Dyer takes over from his recent role as first-team coach at a League club, bringing his experience to the National League side as they aim to improve their performance.
