The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has reported a significant improvement in Nigeria's trade balance for the first quarter of 2026. The total value of imports during this period was ₦13,619.33 billion, reflecting an 18.17% decrease from ₦16,644.42 billion in the same quarter of the previous year and a 21.05% decline compared to the fourth quarter of 2025, which recorded ₦17,250.93 billion in imports. This reduction in import value indicates a positive shift in the country's trade dynamics, as the NBS continues to monitor and analyze economic trends.
