Detectives from the Ifo Division of the Ogun State Police Command have successfully dismantled a transnational criminal syndicate involved in staging fake kidnappings to extort ransom from families abroad. The operation led to the arrest of eight foreign nationals from Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, and the Republic of Benin. The suspects were apprehended while allegedly executing their scheme, which targeted unsuspecting victims. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover further details about the syndicate's operations and potential accomplices.
