Rachael Alamu, the principal of Community High School in Ahoro-Esinle, Oriire Local Government Area, has provided an update regarding her abduction and that of several schoolchildren and teachers. In a video released on Monday, Alamu clarified that the kidnappers are not demanding a ransom of N1 billion or the implementation of Sharia law, as previously reported. Instead, she stated that the gunmen are solely requesting the release of their detained gang members. Alamu emphasized that the claims circulating about the kidnappers' demands are misleading and are complicating the situation for those currently held captive, noting that the abductors have not coerced them into practicing any specific religion during their captivity.
