Marketers of liquefied petroleum gas in Nigeria have attributed the ongoing increase in cooking gas prices to several factors affecting the supply chain. Chinedu Ukadike, spokesperson for the Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria (NOGASA), and Taofeek Lawal from the Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company Plc (NIPCO), provided insights during separate interviews. They highlighted issues such as fluctuations in global gas prices, disruptions in supply logistics, and rising operational costs as key contributors to the price surge observed over the past three weeks. These explanations come amidst growing concerns among consumers regarding the affordability of cooking gas in the country.
