In July 2025, the Mozambique Shelter Cluster enhanced its conflict response efforts, reaching a total of 12,577 households in the Cabo Delgado region. The response was primarily facilitated by key partners, including the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), which assisted 38% of beneficiaries, followed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at 20%, and Save the Children International (SCI) at 15%. Despite these efforts, the overall progress has been hampered by significant funding shortages, with only USD 1.2 million secured out of the required USD 24.8 million, limiting the scale of operations. Response activities included the distribution of essential non-food items (NFI) such as kits, mosquito nets, and sleeping mats, particularly in high-need districts like Ancuabe, while challenges such as funding gaps and logistical constraints continue to impact the effectiveness of the response.
