The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has officially initiated the 2026 Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) campaign, aiming to protect more than one million children under five years old in the six area councils of the territory. The campaign was launched on Monday in Durumi, Abuja, where Adedolapo Fasawe, the mandate secretary of the Health Services and Environment Secretariat (HSES), emphasized the importance of the initiative in combating malaria among vulnerable populations. The SMC campaign is part of broader efforts to reduce malaria incidence and improve health outcomes for children in the region.
