The United States has announced sanctions targeting individuals and entities associated with Iran that are attempting to acquire weapons for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The sanctions specifically focus on thirteen parties located in Iran, Belarus, and China, including Hong Kong, who are alleged to be acting as intermediaries in the procurement of military equipment, such as man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS). This action is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle procurement networks linked to the IRGC, following a previous designation made on May 8, 2026.
