The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Katsina State Wing, has formally requested the Katsina State government to reinstate the 27.5 percent teachers’ allowance that has been suspended since 2011. This appeal comes after 14 years of absence of the allowance, which the union argues is essential for the welfare of educators in the state. The union has emphasized the need for the government to address this issue to improve the living standards of teachers and enhance the quality of education in Katsina.
