Nigeria has committed to hosting the Africa Schools Games in Abuja in 2027, with assurances of a "memorable" event from the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko. During a visit from the ANOCA Africa Schools Games Coordination Commission, Dikko highlighted the nation’s dedication to organizing the Games, which he stated aligns with Nigeria's broader sports development goals. The NSC aims to ensure that the event will not only showcase athletic talent but also promote unity and cultural exchange among participating nations.
