Retired Brigadier General Buba Marwa, the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has issued a stern warning to international drug trafficking syndicates, asserting that Nigeria is no longer a viable route for the transportation of cocaine and other illegal drugs. This statement follows the recent conviction of 11 Indian sailors and their vessel, MV Aruna Hulya, for their involvement in trafficking 31.5 kilograms of cocaine. Marwa emphasized the agency's commitment to combating drug trafficking and enhancing national security against such criminal activities.
