The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has stated that the 258 Nigerians recently evacuated from South Africa did not engage in any criminal activities. During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the Commission's Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, expressed concern that these individuals were targeted solely due to their skin color, highlighting the challenges faced by black immigrants. She emphasized that the evacuation was a response to xenophobic attacks rather than any wrongdoing by the Nigerians involved.
