The United Kingdom and Nigeria have launched a £15 million Growth Programme aimed at attracting private investment and promoting economic reforms in Nigeria. This initiative was announced by UK Minister for Africa and International Development, Baroness Jenny Chapman, during her recent two-day visit to Nigeria, where she engaged in high-level discussions in Abuja and visited various communities in Kaduna. The three-year programme will focus on enhancing capital market development, technology investments, and providing technical assistance to small businesses, while also supporting governance reforms in Nigeria's digital economy. The partnership seeks to deepen economic ties and foster sustainable growth, building on existing UK investments in agriculture, renewable energy, and manufacturing, as well as facilitating stronger trade relations between the two countries.
