Borno Govt Releases 720 Rehabilitated Boko Haram Members Back Into Society

The Borno State Government has officially reintegrated 720 individuals previously associated with Boko Haram back into their communities following their completion of a deradicalisation, rehabilitation, and reintegration programme. During a ceremony held in Maiduguri, retired Brigadier General Ishaq Abdullahi, who serves as the Special Adviser on Security to Governor Babagana Zulum, stated that these individuals were classified as low-risk and had taken an oath affirming their commitment to peace. The initiative aims to promote social cohesion and stability in the region, which has been significantly affected by insurgency-related violence.
