Dr. Chike Okogwu, the National Leader of Persons with Disabilities in the African Democratic Congress, emphasized the necessity of including individuals with disabilities in Nigeria's democratic processes. In his Democracy Day address, titled “Democracy Without Access is Democracy Denied,” he argued that the exclusion of millions of persons with disabilities from opportunities, services, and governance undermines the integrity of the nation’s democracy. Okogwu's statements highlight the urgent need for policies and initiatives that ensure equitable access and representation for all citizens, regardless of their physical abilities.
