Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has selected Chibuike Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation, as his running mate for the upcoming elections. This announcement was confirmed by Sampson, the immediate past chairman of the ADC in Rivers State, on Saturday. Amaechi previously participated in the ADC presidential primary election but was defeated by Abubakar, despite his earlier assertion that he did not intend to seek the vice presidency. Following the primary, Amaechi expressed dissatisfaction with the results, which some party members alleged were manipulated; however, Sampson has now affirmed that Amaechi has accepted the vice presidential position.
