Abducted Retired Major General Rabe Abubakar Reportedly Murdered by Bandits

Retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who previously served as the Director of Defence Information, has been reported killed by bandits while in captivity in Katsina State. The confirmation came from Dr. Nasir Mu’azu Danmusa, the Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, who stated that security authorities received information regarding the general's death. Despite this development, security operatives have not yet recovered his body, and efforts are ongoing to locate his remains. Major General Abubakar and his wife were abducted on May 30 while traveling along the Matazu axis, prompting significant concern from the Katsina State Government and security agencies, who had hoped for his safe return.
