Soldiers Repel Coordinated Boko Haram Attack on Borno Military Base, Recover Explosives

Troops from the 3 Battalion (Mechanised) and the 24 Task Force Brigade successfully thwarted a coordinated attack by suspected fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād (JAS) on a military base located in Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State. The insurgents initiated their assault from three distinct directions: Wurge, Manawaji, and Kinuba axes. In the course of the engagement, security forces were able to recover a cache of explosives from the attackers. The military's prompt response has been credited with preventing significant damage and ensuring the safety of personnel stationed at the base.
