The Defence Headquarters has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Major General Abubakar Rabe (rtd), who was reported to have died in captivity following his abduction in Katsina State. He was kidnapped alongside his wife, Hajiya Amina Abubakar, and their driver, Abdullahi Sa’idu, while traveling on the Marabar Musawa-Kafinsoli road in Matazu. The tragic incident occurred two weeks prior to the announcement of his passing, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region. Major General Rabe previously served as the Director of Defence Information, contributing significantly to military communications during his career.
