Folarin Balogun, a product of Arsenal's Hale End academy, was promoted to the club's first team in 2020 but had limited appearances. He spent the 2022 season on loan at Middlesbrough in the EFL Championship before achieving significant success during a subsequent loan at Ligue 1 side Reims, where he scored 22 goals, setting a record for the highest number of goals by an American in a top five European league. In August 2023, Balogun transferred to AS Monaco for €40 million ($43 million), and he was later recognized as the 2025–26 Monaco Player of the Season.
