The Jigawa State government has announced the deployment of six amphibious excavators to assist in the clearance of aquatic weeds and dredging activities along the Hadejia River, a measure aimed at mitigating flooding in the region. Governor Umar Namadi made this announcement during a ceremony where he distributed working tools to 15 Community Based Organisations (CBOs) on Saturday in Auyo, the headquarters of Auyo Local Government Area. The initiative is part of the state's broader efforts to address the challenges posed by flooding in riverine communities.
