The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to declare a national state of emergency in response to escalating insecurity in the country. This appeal follows the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who reportedly died while in the captivity of bandits, which CISLAC described as a "tragic symbol" of the ongoing security challenges. Additionally, the organization has urged for an immediate investigation into defense spending to ensure accountability and transparency in the management of resources allocated for national security.
