Twenty-five final-year students from the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Abuja have been awarded research grants totaling ₦3,211,500 under the Nigeria Food Security Scholars Programme (NFSSP). This initiative, part of the Nigerian Food Security Project (NFSP), aims to foster research-driven solutions to address the pressing food security challenges in Nigeria. Each recipient received a project-based grant along with certificates of participation, recognizing their contributions to the field of food security research. The funding is intended to enhance the students' research capabilities and promote innovative approaches to improving food security in the country.
