The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit against the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) regarding an alleged expenditure of approximately N5.9 billion. The legal action claims that NNPCL has not provided adequate accountability for the funds used in the incorporation, transition, and rebranding from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to NNPCL. According to reports, NNPC allocated N2.9 billion for this process, raising concerns about transparency and financial management within the company.
