The Nigerian government has officially established a Technical Working Group focused on Agricultural Produce Residue Standards to combat the persistent issue of rejected agricultural exports. This initiative aims to ensure compliance with Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) and other sanitary and phytosanitary requirements that have led to the non-acceptance of Nigerian commodities in international markets. During the inauguration event held in Abuja, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Aliyu, emphasized the importance of adhering to these standards to enhance the competitiveness of Nigeria's agricultural sector. The establishment of this group is part of broader efforts to improve the quality and safety of agricultural products for export.
