The United Nations has expressed serious concern regarding a notable rise in executions in Iran, revealing that at least 40 individuals have been executed since the beginning of 2026. Among those executed, 18 were identified as protesters, who were reportedly charged with offenses related to national security. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk presented these figures during a recent address, highlighting the urgent need for the Iranian government to adhere to international human rights standards.
